"I came with my family from Mexico when I was 14 and I was largely out of shape. I wasn’t accustomed to the lifestyle here, and my weight made it even harder for me to fit in. I weighed 225 lbs during my senior year of high school and that's when I realized I needed a change. I decided to become more active by playing basketball and running. I lost over 75 lbs in a year. I continued that routine during my college career, but realized that I wasn't very strong when I drove to the basket. So I added weight lifting to my workout routine to become stronger and now I weigh 190 lbs with more emphasis on muscle mass.

Throughout my weight loss and fitness journey, dieting alone never worked for me. I tried taking supplements and tried all these "diet fads" but it never seemed to get me where I wanted to be. They always ended up being temporary and I realized my self image and happiness suffered as a result. What did the trick was the combination of flexible dieting, some cardio and dedicated weight lifting. I relate to the KFKF Brand because to me, it is more than just another apparel company. KFKF is a community of athletes of all shapes and sizes. It is a Tribe of athletes, helping each other reach their own personal goals while remembering to enjoy life in the present. This Movement reminds people that its all about balance, moderation, and body image positivity. We all have goals and it's about time we focused on enjoying the journey as well as the end goal.

My name is Jose. My favorite food is pizza with wings and steak on top (yes, it's a thing lol) and I squat on chest days and I am a KFKF Athlete." - Jose, Behavioral Care (BCA), KFKF Athlete
