"Sammy, how do you stay so skinny?!" Gosh, I miss those days. Now, I'm being asked if I'm pregnant! Up until a couple of years ago, I always weighed less than 100 lbs. No matter what I did to try and gain weight, I just couldn’t. My daily lunches in nursing school consisted of a snickers bar and a cup of noodles with hot Cheetos.
It wasn’t until after my wedding that I noticed those snickers bars catching up to me. I went along with the reasoning that it was "love pudge," 🤰🏽from my happy marriage, but I could only be in denial for so long. The mirror and my pants wouldn’t just let. me. live! 😫
I have never been a believer in restricting myself because I've always caved into my cravings. If I want ice cream, I’ll have a bite or two (okay, maybe five) with a side of fries. The journey in trying to be fit is physically painful sometimes, why make your diet painful too? Enjoy the process and the processed food every once in a while.
My goal is to continue staying sexy for my man, whether it's in the kitchen baking his favorite pie, or being able to kick his ass in the number of deadlifts I can do. 🙌🏽 My husband and l enjoy Netflix marathons, but we still manage to hit the iron jungle at least 3x a week. KFKF is the name of the game, and teetering between both extremes is a gift.
