"My journey started in 2008/2009. I had to weigh myself for a class that I took while i was in nursing school. I was shocked to see the scale creep up towards 300lbs. That was the heaviest I had ever been so I decided to change from that point on.
I started eating healthier and started working out. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a fluffy guy, but I figured if I’m going to be big, I have to be strong too. I took up powerlifting and haven’t looked back.
I want to help spread the message of KFKF. Being Kinda Fit Kinda Fat to me means being able to be an active person, whether its bodybuilding, cross fit, powerlifting, cycling, etc. while at the same time learning to enjoy some good food every now and then! In my limited experience of being fit and my extensive experience of being fat, I can say that being able to throw down at the gym and also throw down at the buffet is all about balance. KFKF is a mindset. Its body acceptance throughout every step of your fitness journey, whatever your goals are.
My name is Jon. I’ve deadlifted 700 lbs and counting and I'll accept any AYCE KBBQ eating contest and I am Kinda Fit Kinda Fat.” - Jon, RN
