"Throughout my whole life I've never really had an issue with my weight, until I started having to carry it on the wall. I started rock climbing 7 years ago and since then it's become one of my biggest passions.
Growing up, I've always been skinny but it wasn't until after high school that my metabolism started slowing down and I started gaining weight. I love food and to me, eating is a way of experiencing life. My boyfriend and I enjoy traveling, trying food from different cultures, and taking in what the world has to offer.
The weight that I gained eventually turned into muscle: my shoulders got wider, my forearms got bigger, my back got more toned. I used to feel self conscious about being the "buff" one in my group of girl friends until I came to realize that my body is what's enabling me to be strong and do well in my competitions and my physique is what's allowing me to climb just as strong (if not stronger 😉🙂) than some of the boys at the gym.
Since then I've learned to love my body. I'm not one to restrict myself from eating certain foods but I do believe in balance and discipline. I meal prep and eat healthy during the week so I can have cheat days on the weekends. You don't have to say no to ice cream, you just have to earn it.
