"I'm a little girl with a BIG stomach! I absolutely love food and I may be known to get HANGRY! Feed me ice cream and donuts and the hangriness will stay at bay. After all, those two things win my heart over anything else in the world.
It took a while, but I finally developed a healthy and peaceful relationship with food. As a young person, I fell victim to diet culture, especially in my teens and was constantly worried about how each bite of food would add pounds to my body. It didn't help that as a teen I was chubby and as a result, was overly self-conscious about my body.
I went to school to be a Registered Dietician to learn and study about my fave- food. I wanted to teach people how to enjoy their food and stay healthy. I hate the fact that "dieting" has become an irrational religion and is making people struggle in so many ways. Food is the best thing that God has created in this world.
The key to real health is to do what makes you feel great and happy. One should have a nurturing and healthy relationship with food by making food choices from a place of nourishment, NOT deprivation. I learned everything I could about intuitive eating and balance in your daily life and integrated these non-diet approaches in both my personal life and my practice. As a RD, I want to help others redefine health and discover their own path to wellness.
KFKF to me means that I can enjoy the food I eat but also balance in working out and being healthy too. I am also an avid traveler (25 countries so far) and I will continue to make my way around the world and explore all the delicious food each city has to offer.
I am proud to be a KFKF athlete, the kinda athlete that has a spoonful of ice cream in one hand, a donut in the other and still be able to show you my abs I worked hard for. Balance is key. Enjoy every moment you've created for yourself. Be happy and healthy.
