Baker's Choice Highlight: Jimmy

Baker's Choice Highlight: Jimmy
"Yeah I might be a chunky boy but I can still go out surfing, rock climbing, and hiking." - Jimmy
"Growing up I was always the fat kid in my family. All my siblings played multiple sports, but at the time I weighed too much to play with kids my age. For example when I was 4 I wrestled but since I weighed more I would have to wrestle against 8 year olds. When I played little league baseball I was also the biggest kid on the team every year. It wasn't until I got to high school when I started to thin out and I started playing football. I loved football. I put a lot of effort into it and was determined to get a scholarship. I played O-Line and I ended up being a 2 year starter on varsity and was able to get a scholarship to a D3 school out in Southern Illinois.
As of right now I am not a part of any sport and am just going to the gym to train. For me it is a great way to start my morning. I will get up, go to the gym for a few hours and then head to work. I work as a chemical operator down by the port of Long Beach, we load and unload tanker trucks and rail cars. Before this I worked construction as a pipefitter which is a labor intensive job picking up piping and putting it into specific places. Going to the gym helps keep me in shape for my work because even now I still have to pick up heavy things at work or fit myself into small areas where you normally wouldn't think I would fit.
When I was introduced to the Kinda Fit Kinda Fat Community, it resonated with me because that is exactly how I feel about myself. Yeah I might be a chunky boy but I can still go out surfing, rock climbing, and hiking. I don't feel that because I am a bigger guy I am limited to what I can do. I love this journey that I am on and I love the message this company sends out. Because no matter where you are on this journey you should always love yourself and love the process. My name is Jimmy and I am Kinda Fit Kinda Fat."
