"I learned to be kinder to myself and to my body... to enjoy the process and every stage that my body goes through: every muscle, every roll, every vein. I learned to appreciate what my body can do and can push to be." - Miah
"I wasn't very athletic growing up. The closest activity I had was dance, and I stopped when I started nursing school. I try to stay active and enjoy trying different activities that challenge me physically and mentally. I found powerlifting through friends and family about 4 years ago and would sat that I have grown to be an avid lifter. I also recently found cycling and I am really glad that I found a cardio activity that I really enjoy and a community that is encouraging, fun, and welcoming!
Growing and progressing through different fitness levels and activities was physically and mentally challenging for me. I am no stranger to body dysmorphia, insecurity, and lack of confidence. I experienced many ups and downs with fitness and was unnecessarily hard on myself. While experiencing this feeling of self-doubt and feeling lost on my journey, I found Kinda Fit Kinda Fat. They shared a mindset that I genuinely believed in. I learned to be kinder to myself and to my body. I learned to enjoy the process and every stage that my body goes through: every muscle, every roll, every vein. I learned to appreciate what my body can do and can push to be. Kinda Fit Kinda Fat believes this and has created a community filled with like-minded people who shared positivity, encouragement, and warmth towards anyone and everyone at any fitness level.
To me, KFKF is not a specific type of look, but a sense of balance. That fitness is multi-faceted. That you CAN love your body now but still make changes to be better. That, yes, Kinda Fit and Kinda Fat can exist simultaneously. And that is me."
